How to unlock found laptop?

Few days ago I found in bush a HP nc6400 laptop with broken screen. When turned on, sounds like it's working (at least fans work), but there's not a little flash on the screen. I never used a laptop before, but as for me, it looks like it's locked by fingerprint or sth. On top of that when I plugged extra monitor there was no input signal... Can someone tell me is ther any chance to rescue this laptop?
