ford sierra P100 diesel delivery?

Hi mate - I had a similar problem with mine. I bought a new priming pump, and when i went to put it on, i found that inside the bolt for the inlet of the priming pump, there was a small mesh filter which had become caked with sh*te - i cleaned this out and replaced it, and the problem has gone. Give it a go! took me ages to sus that one out!

the delivery pump is integral with the injector pump, the pickup in the tank is prone to blocking with a black looking gunge this is because diesel fuel is active with a type of bacteria which after time causes the buildup of this slime, the tank unit is located just behind the cab on the offside of the tank and can be removed by twisting the retaining ring anti-clockwise to release the unit,make sure to mark the flow and return pipes if you dissconnect them as this is very important. i would also suggest that you blow out the fuel lines with an airline to clear any sludge in the lines also check the diaphragm in the primer unit as these are rubber and are prone to perishing and therefore allow air into the system preventing the fuel system from operating correctly. hope this helps Neil.
