Fisher and Paykel, Nautilus dishwasher displaying 'F1', won't switch off?

The dishwasher (Fisher and Paykel, Nautilus) won't respond to any program control buttons and is displaying 'F1' in the control panel.

I didn't have room to tilt it back so far, without disconnecting all the hoses and wiring. But I found pulling the thing out a little and giving it a good shake cured the F1. Maybe the sensor was just "stucK" in the "flood" position?

Thanks to everyone who posted remedies we have now successfully fixed dishwasher without the aid of Fisher & Paykel technician simply by emptying, tipping 45 degree and hey presto!

Daaaaaaaarling Paul Levy - you are a gem! Yes, Sean - by tipping the dishwasher half way back to allow the excess water to run off WORKS! I was going to toss the dishwasher out and get a new one, no need now...

I had the same problem with water tripping the float switch. The problem was easily rectified by tightening the drawer runner screws. They were loose and letting water run down the outside of the interior and collecting in the bottom.

Thanks Paul Levy - taking your solution I tipped my dishwasher halfway back, water poured out the bottom but the F1 error is now gone and the dishwasher is working ! Thanks.

There is water in the bottom of the dishwasher and the fault code is telling you that the flood switch in the bottom has been activated.
