how can i fix my hotpoint aquarius wma56?

1 inlet fill tap not sealing when turning off at the tap,2 inlet solenoid rubber washer not seating allowing leak past ,or (the favorite) 3 washing machine has been coupled to the sink, sink water from the u bend maybe siphoning into machine,raise the middle of the waste pipe HIGHER than the bottom of the sink (ignore 3 if you have a standpipe connection.
