Hi Michelle. I recently had the same thing - you shouldn't really fix it yourself as there are wires involved - its likely to be the motor brushes (as it was in my case) or the belt. I opened the lid and found the belt was intact so i rang a local repair guy to come and replace the brushes. It cost me ÂŁ48 - took him bout 5 mins.
