I think you'll see that the valve timing is set and not adjustable - there are punch marks on both the crankshaft and camshaft gears that you line up when rebuilding the engine. Single cylinder engines can prove difficult to start when hot, but try full throttle when you crank - and then just applying the choke momentarily. With a bit of luck it will go.
