Mend Black and Decker GL565 Line Spool

In which direction do I wind line on the spool of a Black and Decker GL565?

I need to hand-wind new line on this machine as the spool cannot be removed. I have 2 questions: -
1. Do I fix the start of the winding to a hole at the machine-end or the ground-end of the spool.
2. With the spool on the machine, the cutting area uppermost and the handle pointing towards the floor, do I wind clockwise or anti-clockwise?
