AEG Dishwasher not heating up?

i have an aeg favorit 35085 not heating .checked heater ok.only recieving 65volts ac to heater ? . suspect programer .any ideas

Faults: intermittent drying for about 1 year, then stopped heating water.
Solution: removed EWM1500 controller (includes switched and LED display) and replaced 10A relay.
The relay was available at:

It is possible that the problem was just a dry joint as the old relay seemed fine.

AEG 40750 fix

Checked heater element. Ohm ok. around 25.

(Volt x volt / R 230x230/25=2116W)

Looked at the back of the pcb card (panel with 6 buttons in front door) A stick was burned. Put some solder on it and now works fine.

I removed the bottom panel at the rear of the machne which allows access to the heater. The clips that hole the heater onto the hoses can be released using a small 'G' clamp and the heater removed. The heater on my machine was showing open circuit - no resistance and had obviously failed possibly because of overheating due to scale build up.

Each time I took the door apart to investigate , the water heated ok? Tried switching off MAINS Power and restarting and this appears to work ok. 3 weeks on , and switch the mains power off and it works great through any of the programs.

Same problem here, intermittent heating. Call out fee for engineer just not worthwhile. No idea what the pcb is and totally fed up. Another bill looming i fear for a new dishwasher :-(

Hi I have the AEG Favorit too and it has intermittent heating. I will try your advice Dave as I go through a routine of opening and closing the door and cycling the buttons and that seems to work although not consistently. It could be a dry joint/track fault. i will post back if i fix it!!

My three year old AEG has the same problem...the engineer replaced the element last Christmas at a cost of £100 but it has stopped heating the water again.

I have an AEG Favorit 44070VI with same fault. Checked heater element which read 28 ohms, so seemed ok. Removed the box that house the programme buttons from the door (after removing the wire connectors). Removed the PCB and on the reverse re-soldered a dry joint where the heater relay is. This cured the problem.

ok, though i would aply my own logic to the problem ... every time an engineer comes he takes the machine out and puts back and the fault seems to go away (only for a week or two though). so i thought i would pull out, tip up (as per flood error on another post here) and put back.
Hey presto! it is heating ... not a very long term solution tho.

i have a sensorlogic 60860. i have had this fault since july last year and have had 6 vists from the AEG engineer to "fix" it.

they keep replacing part, checking wiring etc have no clue why it is happening. It is not the heating element or loose connections. I think it is the main control PCB but they refuse to replace because its over £100! I will let you know if i get a solution.

By the way. I found that the thing does heat up sometimes (about 1 in 10), so keep putting on the same dishes until they get clen. Not very economic but saves me washing up!!

check the control pcb for fused track to heater as this will cause the fault described.yes elements can be replaced but will need testing with a multimeter to check if it is open circuit
