when my washing machine is doing a cycle it sounds as if something is scraping around inside of the drum , what could it be ? have empted the washing out of the machine & looked in can't see anything please help

I think there will be a foreign object trapped between the inner (revolving) drum and the outer (fixed) drum....the most common objects being bra wires! Anything gone missing recently? Unfortunately the only way to get this thing out is to dismantle most of the machine.....
