my 4hp 4stroke mariner 2005 modle outboard runs fine in the bin but as soon as im out in the sea after 10-30 mins it cuts out as if the feul has run out and the wont start again for a while ,it also starts over reving .ive checked the inline filter all seams ok the integral feul tanks air inlet seems fine aswell but when it dies i pulled of feul pipe at carb and it seams dry and when you pull the starter feul; comes out in small squirts .when the engine is running feul pumps out fast ..so any ideas or advise on what to look at would be greatly eppreciated
sounds like you air vent could be blocked a little and she goes air locked after a while running with strain on her in a test tank there no strain she would and she dont need as much gas and when she starts runnin out of gas she leans out which causes her to rev up your fuel pump could be weak also and when she at full throttle she aint gettin enough gas and she cuts out
