My dishwasher has not emptied?

My Hotpoint DF53 dishwasher has suddenly stopped filling up with water, can't find a blockage anywhere, the motor seems ok, my son has had a look at it, don't know why it has suddenly stopped filling up, no blockages from the pipes supplying the water, any ideas please, can't cope without it.
