My Kenmore washer just stopped draining or spinning. I was washing a rug at the time; removed it, drained the water.
It gets to the point where it should spin (and drain) and I smell a burning rubber kind of smell. Once it made a humming sound, once it kicked the breaker in the fuse box off.
I pulled the drainage hose off but can't see or feel any obstruction.
What next?
Help Please...
If the motor is trying to go, the first thing I would check would be the pump. It's possible a piece of the rug got jammed in the pump causing a no drain and also the burning smell you have.
