megane 14 pressure build up in cooling system WHY?

96 renault megane 14. water comes back into the header tank under pressure. Makes no diffrence if the car is hot or cold, have changed thermostate and sensors, is there any point changing the waterpump? Am i missing something else? Has the head gasket blown again? can you help? Hoiliday coming up need car.
