engine fan?

the fan on my fiat punto still seems to running even after engine has been turned off
any ideas!!!!

Could be it is supposed to.
The fan may continue to run until the temperature at the sensor is cool enough. Does it stop eventually?? then thats ok. I would be worried if a) it never stopped or b) it never comes on....does the temperature gauge read hot?? ie over half way all the time?
Suggestions...check the radiator is clear so air goes through and check the water level(when its cold!!).
else find a garage to check it out
