hotpoint aquarius 1100?

occasionally my machine gets FOUL smelling water in it which can vary in amount but always gross!! Have checked inlet and waste pipe but all appears ok. Can spin it out but washing can still smell less than fresh Any suggestions?

Is the drain connected under the sink or to a stand pipe? If connected under the sink, the hose must be looped upwards and then down into connection or water will siphon from sink.
