Hotpoint CTD00 Aquarius No Heat?

Everything on my Hotpoint CTD00 Aquarius appears to work, drum going round etc. But there is no heat.

Had a look in the back panel and the heating elements/Thermostats can be seen there with easy enough access (no reset button that I have read about elsewhere). Does anyone know if it is likely to be the thermostats that are causing this problem? And are they easy enough to replace - and how would I do it?

Neilg76 you are brilliant! Followed your simple clear instructions and it worked. Anyone else with heating problem, try thermostat instructions first before buying a new heating element. Many thanks Neil.

My husband is my hero because he sorted this in 5 minutes with perfect results. But do follow the last step 8 of taking off the elements to access the pinpoint needed to fix the dryer. Many thanks to the original person who gave us all the answer!

Brilliant advice. Scroll to the foot of this post to see the actual advice. Note you have to unscrew the plate holding the thermostat and element to get to the back of the thermostats. Really easy for someone who doesn't usually use a screw driver. Thanks.

Kaz - the two screws are on the back, where you remove the 8, they are a little smaller.

Everyone else, this is great and my dryer works a treat, however I have to repeat this process approx every other day as it keeps losing the heat again. Do the thermostats need replacing, and if so, is this easy to do?

Just to add you need to take out the two small screws after number 3, which will then drop the heating coils housing out. It's a tiny hole in the middle of the thermostat on the right hand one you need to press in.

We had the same problem with our Hotpoint CTD00. I followed the 7 steps above and, hey presto, it's now producing heat. Thank you.

1. unplug the drier
2. UNscrew the back panels first bit that sticks out (2 screws) then the larger panel (about 8 screws.
3. ONce open you will see the heating coils and above that 2 small circular elements - these are the thermostats.
4. one of the thermostats will have a small hole in the back.
5. find something small like a pin and push into the small hole untill u hear a click.
6. screw alll the panels back on and plug it back in
7. Hey presto the tumble drier works and you have saved yourself a £90 call out + labour charge :)
