I too have an AEG OKO-LAVAMAT and it goes through the motions then will not start for no apparent reason. The window flashes up with E40 which must be an error code and without an manual I can't decipher. Any ideas on how to re-set the machine or get a manual?
than you Gina (can't remember model number and I am not with the machine now)
E40 means door not properly locked (or the machine thinks so anyway).

Hi Gina,
my name is Richard and i have the same E40 error code on my OKO Lavamat washing machine as you. Have you any ideas as to what this code means? If you have did you manage to solve the problem and did you need to call an engineer?
