kitchenaid refrigerator beeping no light?

My fridge beeps 3 times every 2 minutes...also there are no interior lights or display unless I manually depress the light switch in the door. It didn't come with a filter but does have the ice and water dispenser. How can I stop the beeping?

Mine did this and it had ice buildup on evaporator core. I removed freezer drawers and metal cover from inside the rear of the fridge and thawed it with a hair dryer. Problem solved.

After keeping the door open whlel cleaning, the lights went out and Kitchen Aid side by side fridge started emitting 3 short beeps inermittently. I pressed the over temp reset button as mentioned above and the lights came back on and no more beeping. Thank you for saving me an expensive service call. This is a great forum!

My KSSS42QKB02 is also experiencing the 3 beeps. However, the refrigerator portion of my unit is no longer cooling. I also have frost building up in my freezer. Any thoughts?

I have a KitchenAid built-in. While cleaning the in-side, the lights went off. I thought it would come back on after I shut the door. Instead it started beeping every few minutes. I tried the over temp reset button but didn't work so I presses the "power button". Everything came back on and the over temp button had a different color light as if it was smart enough to know what's going on... everything is fine now.

I think I may have the solution, after having suffered through the same problem for months. I have a Kenmore Elite side-by-side which is really the same as KitchenAid and Whirlpool. Having thought of complicated solutions first, I have finally gotten back to step 1, simple solution. Tape the switch on the top of the freezer compartment and see if that works for you. I believe the door while seemingly closed is not pushing the switch in far enough. If that works for you, you can probably glue something to the top of freezer door so it can push in the door switch a little better. The reason that it beeps is that the switch is not pushed in enough and the light is still on inside while the door is closed. The refrigerator then thinks the door is still open. I really hope this works for you as I can sympathize with you having listened to the beeps for months. I feel sorry for people who have changed one circuit board after another to no avail. And there are so many stupid repairmen out there offering dumb advices and perform needless repairs.

Your fridge door has most likely been ajar for more than 10 min at some point so your fridge went into this mode.
Press the "Over Temp Reset" button. You may need to press it twice. That is it...the lights will come back on and the beeping will go away
