I have a Hmer Motorhome with a 2.5 diesel engine?

I have a Hymer Motorhome with a 2.5 deisel engine that has anFast idle switch/choke...What is the reasoning for this as deisels do not fire up like petrols and it has the glow plugs any way. I am confused

this is to allow you to control the engine idle speed so you can warm up engine from a cold start whilst standing still
