I am having trouble removing the case of a makita 6980FD impact drill?

I need to open the case of the drill so far I have removed the screws, applied lubricant but I am still unable to open the case any ideas

the metal cover on the front of the driver (the hammer case) is a reverse thread so righty loosey lefty tighty!!

Remove the single screw above the trigger switch and then remove the led unit by pulling it forward. Now remove the screw hidden by this. Next remove the small rubber collar at the front of the unit, here you will find a nut shape. Place it in a vice and rotate the body of the unit to undo the front of the metal section. Draw unit carefully apart. The metal gear house will now come away from the body. Inside the remaining metal housing you will see a gearwheel. Pull this out and put to one side. (It may have come away with the removal of the front housing). Once removed you will see 4 screws. Remove all 4. Remove both black caps and the brushes. Now remove all the screws in the handle. The handle will now come apart while the front metal housing can be pulled forward, if required. The motor spindle is supported on bearings which fit into the metal housing at one end and the plastic brush mounting at the other end.

Please note: I don't work for makita but just like fixing expensive tools instead of paying for repairs. Hope this helps and you don't loose any bits in the process.
