Changing the thermostat in my potterton netaheat 10/16?

is it possible to change the thermostat myself, bearing in mind that the cappilary part goes into the back of the boiler? i am an electrician,so i know it is at fault and can do the electrical connections.

It is very easy to do. But as matt says, the positive pressure design (the fan is on the input side - i.e. it pushes air through, rather than sucking it out) means that, if the casing isn't replaced correctly, carbon monoxide can be leaked out.

You should be OK as long as you are careful and aslo make sure that you do not catch the capiliary tube in the casing!

i wouldnt advise that you do , because you will have to remove the case in order to chage it ... this boiler has positive fan pressure and if the case is not refitted correctly the outcome could be nasty
