Pansonic TX-28DK1L switches to Stanby automicatically ?

When I switch on TV, it switches to standby - can't view the picture. 2 weeks prior to this, it was happening shortly after viewing the picture and then with a few bangs\slaps on the side\top of the TV, it would remain on and the picture could be viewed. It could steadily worse and now the picture is not viewable at all as it will go into standby mode when you switched it on to view.
Is it a fuse in the TV, flash drive, dry joints - any help greatly appreciated asap?
