power steerings gone and the battery light shows on the dash?

how do i change the alternator on an 04 plate vauxhall astra van, 1.7L CDTi?

hi yes the power steering fault you have there is down to the alternator not charging. because it has an electronic steering rack when the alternator starts to charge then it powers up the sterring rack. to change the alternator is a bit tight. needs to be removed from underneath the van. you'l probly have to remove the horn aswell to gain room

if your power steering has failed and battery light is on chances are the drive belt/tensioner has failed
