Bosch 1200 classixx express won't spin?

Washes OK but intermittently won't spin or empty water. Usually works after manually emptying and lots of fiddling with everything but it's getting worse

I followed AliBongo's instructions and they worked a treat. Thank you very much!

Bosch Classixx 'Not Spinning remans full of water'

Usually the impeller blade on the water pump is impeded; stopped from turning. Coins, favourite is hair clips, etc.
UNPLUG THE MACHINE FROM THE MAINS.

Undo the flap; bottom right, drain water out through small plastic tube..you can yank about a foot of it out (curled up inside) when drained, you're going to get some spillage have a cloth ready.

Undo the big threaded bung (anti-clockwise) some water don't worry... you will see the impeller up at the end of the channel the bung came from; you should see two blades and any obstruction stopping blades from turning...

Hook whatever out with your finger, spin the blades for full rotations; check inlet and outlet; up by the impeller, make sure the holes are clear as far as you can feel with your finger tip. you're DONE.

Shove the little plastic tube back into it's hole and locate the end in it's retainer.; put the bug back in (clock-wise).

If the impeller WAS impeded you should be AWAY.

Not that... then it's beyond me.

my bosch washer motor winding circuit 4 &5 are bad. Do i need a new motor?

Check out the carbon brushes in the motor. Theyre graphite blocks which transfer mains power to the copper segments of the motor - located at the other end of the motor from the drive pulley. Theyre probably worn down. They're quite cheap parts and easy to replace - the holders are plastic or bakelite and are generally held in with screws or plastic clips. Also, look at the copper segments they run on to check for burning or pitting. If the segments are burnt or damaged you need a replacement motor or a replacement armature (motor part) if you can source one. Occasionally may be a fault in the motor drive circuit board - in which case replacement of board only real option. Check all wires and connectors generally for internal breakages - caused by movement of the wiring loom attached to the drum. Over a long period of time the wire strands inside the insulator break through metal fatigue. Although the outside of the wire appears ok the internal is open circuit. Pull on each individual wire - if theyre ok internally, they shouldnt stretch.

Other possible causes of spin problems: Faulty pressure switch - machine "thinks" the drum is still full of water so wont enter the spin cycle. An easy way to check is to remove the hose connected to the pressure switch and listen for a click, this will happen the instant the hose is removed so be aware. if you do hear a click it means the switch has reset, so the pressure chamber attached to the other end of the pipe is blocked, which will require you to remove it and clean it out. If there is no click either you missed it or the switch contacts are welded together. To test the switch you may have to remove it because you will need to blow into it and listen for one or more clicks as the different levels set. Be aware that some of the older machines have multi level switches, whilst the newer ones only have a single level. Spin problems may also be caused if the machine reckons the load is out of balance, rearrange the load. If problem persists could possibly be a fault in the out of balance detector switch or the suspension and damping system.
