husqvarna 254 chainsaw?

i have a husqvarna 254 pro chain saw, it starts and runs great but when it is warm and you shut it off for a while, it does not want to run, it will fire but dies, and if you use the choke it does the same, when it does fire it wants to die as if it is not getting fuel , the line is clear and fuel flows freely when i took the line off.any answers

It is probably not the fuel, it sounds like either the plug is miss firing when hot or most of the time it will end up being the electronic control module. Once it cools it will usually start and run again until shut off, you can ground out plug when it stops and see if it has fire, if it has blue fire it is gas problem if yellow fire is plug or electronic module.

check out arboristsite.com
I remember readign something about that problem, think it is a vacum or vent problem with the fuel tank.
good luck

check or replace fuel filter, fuel filters are not expensive, if the filter is ok try turning the L tuning screw anti clockwise a small amount to richen the idle,if the saw stalls when trying to rev up from idle the L screw is to lean, by adjusting it anti clockwise this will richen the idle but you might have to adjust the T screw clockwise to get it to idle.

I'd check the fuel filter. Even though you say fuel is running, it may not be enough. I've had exactly this problem today, as it happens, with a 254. (Used professionally) Next time it doesnt start, take out the filter, which thankfully is on a long pipe, and blow through it. This won't make it like new, but it will allow more fuel through than before. If the saw starts now, that was your problem.
254's did have a problem with fuel vapourising when hot, but I thought they'd cracked that.
