if you have removed tape on switch wire nip to b@q for a cheap multimeter on it is continuity test when pins are put together it will bleep. turn power off to lghting circuits get all the wires seperarate get a friend to operate swicth on bathroom put the meter pins on red and black cable one set at a time ie red and black when it bleeps you have found the switch wire put red tape on black one and put this in live, the red wire to the other reds and the blacks to neutral

You have wired it up wrong.

In a ceiling rose you will have 3 reds (or brown) 1 is the live feed in, 1 is the live feed out (to the next ceiling rose) and 1 is the live to the switch. These should be connected together and not to the bulb.

You should have 3 blacks (blue) 1 is the neutral feed in, 1 is the neutral feed out (to the next ceiling rose) and 1 is the switch live from the switch (THIS IS THE IMPORTANT WIRE AND SHOULD BE MADE OBVIOUS WITH RED OR BROWN TAPE). The switch live should be connected to one side of the bulb and the other two blacks (blue) should be connected to the other side of the bulb.

You should also have 3 earth wires., these should all be connected together and connected to the earth terminal on the rose.

Remember turn off the electricity before starting anything
