How can I fix my Ariston Margarita A1635 washing machine?

When switched on programme dial just keeps clicking round and nothing else happens

I have the same problem. I do what you said but when i turn it on the same thing happens and it doesnt drain when it reaches the drain bit....any help?

We have the same with our machine. I turn off, set the dial to the end dot of any cycle. Leave for a while. Then turn on again and use as normal. Our machine has always done this from day 1. Frustrating if near end of cycle. Bare with it.
