I have recently acquired a 53 Golf fitted witha VW Radio Gamma and my listening is constantly interrupted by traffic announcements about road conditions 50 miles away! helpfully the handbook says "if you want to turn off the TP permanently, turn off the TP", but it unhelpfully fails to state how!
Please help me, it's driving me nuts!
If ure radio has a TP button,try to press it once.

Hi, I have the same problem but pressed the FM1 or FM2 button to get rid of the bigger TP letters but the one in the corner is still there..........waiting!! Don't you just hate traffic announcements when your car is in your garage!

if you turn the stereo off ond on twice in sync with two dabs of the clutch pedal that shouls sort it

I have this problem after i get my bora serviced, press the fm1-2 button, this should replace the lower tp display but leave the one in the upper corner, but this one doesnt seem to matter.
