renault scenic help needed?

hi , hope the following helps:
1. iratic idle, my missus car of the same year did the same, is it the 1.6 petrol? If so, then it was the idle valve, however, it does cost £200.00 !!! But it solved the problem over 2 years ago, not a peak since.
2. heating problem, does the engine temp gauge go upto normal temp? if so, then the temp switch on the dash or the cable have become seperated. operate lever whilst someone else looks under dash at the levers to see if they are working.
3. the dull light on youre dash for the milage is the bulb, it did the same to my missus car also.#
