Microwave dosen't heat things up. Should I toss it or fix it?

Firstly, I do not know what country the person putting the question is in so I have no way of telling what costs would be involved. Secondly, as I said in my first answer. Microwave ovens can be complicated & a not heating fault could be any one of a number of reasons. We cannot diagnose & give accurate costs via the internet. Suggesting possible parts that may of failed may only encourage Mr Kross to investigate. A quick trip to the repair shop for a quote is the safer option.

Hi Vic , understand problem... my Delonghi has just started doing the same after only 18 months.
Whilst I appreciate Lincoln Appliance's safety answer, it would help if they could have given you an idea, they are obviously a service company. If in their experience its a £5 part or not. As at the moment you can buy a £34 Sharp from Asda. If the dam things are only going to last 18 months why spend more or even consider repairing them when the go wrong.

Microwave ovens are complex & very dangerous. Many thousands of volts can be present even if power is turned off. Not wise for an untrained or moderately handy person to be playing around with. If overall condition is still good & you think it is worth spending money on then ask a service company to fix it. If you don't think it is worth spending money on then buy a new one.
