triton T80xr shower - low pressure light and no water flows at all. ?

This has only been fitted a couple of months ago. I have checked and found that the water does flow through the copper pipe leading to the shower unit but not sure how
(a) to check the pressure of the water in the copper pipe
(b) what pressure is required for this shower unit
(c) how to increase the water pressure to unit if this is the problem

How can I be sure it isnt a problem with the unit itself rather than a pressure problem, as it has worked fine for 2 months?

I got this problem when I switched off the cord whilst the shower was working.

Basically the shutdown puts the water in the right place.... so when the unit is trying to start its finding things as they shouldnt be if the last shutdown didnt complete itself correctly.

What I did was lowered the showerhead onto the floor so then what was trying to pass through the pipe could do so as the water emptied out.

Then it worked.

If that doesnt work I would try holding the pipe high to ensure any air bubbles are released. Then drain out all water by lowering to the floor. if that doesnt work try sucking. If that doesnt work try blowing.

as a last resort fill the hose with water removing air bubbles then try

it is more than likely the solenoid coil, especially if the shower has been working ok previously (and if this has been a gradual deteriation in performance) You can buy the coils for this model on ebay for £10-12
You could also have a faulty valve but 90% of the time its just the coil thats gone Good luck

The water inlet solenoid valve is probably faulty. This valve opens and closes the main water feed. With no water feed......low pressure light is activated.

answer 1> It is could be that you have a low water presure. Also if you are in south of England it could be build up of calcium...but I don't think so. You do not give any details of head of water, like how far below the header tank is the shower head? For an electric shower you are looking at atl east 0.3 bar depending on the model, but as you say 1bar seems to be the norn. It is very unlikely that the mains press has reduced below this, if you are running off mains.
2> failure to switch on can be due to
a) low pressure
b) faulty pressure sensor

So, if you are running off storage tack in attic there is only one solution....get a 'negative pressure' power pump...search the web like I did and that pump sorted the probs you seem to have.

Did you ever find a solution to your problem as im having the same problem with the same model of shower!!

I'm having the same problem with no luck. I do know that the minimum running pressure for the shower is 1.0 bar or 1.5 bar for the 10.5kW rated shower.

Some answers on the net seem to suggest cleaning the inlet filter and shower head. However, since your shower is relatively new, this would seem not to be the problem.

Sorry I can't be of more help!
