Drain machine by running the outlet pipe into a bucket at floor level or run the outlet pipe out of the back door if it'll reach. Power off, drag machine out onto the floor, remove back cover or tip machine up at an angle. Disconnect the sump hose (the big one which connects to the filter or pump) from bottom of drum and try to wiggle the item out. If that doesnt work you'll have to disconnect and remove the heater which should give another vantage point. Use a torch and a long thin stick to move the item to the sump outlet. When replacing the heater ensure it locates properly in its retaining clip inside the drum. This stops it contacting the moving drum- VERY IMPORTANT.

something small may have fallen out of your washing and got between the inner and outer drums. You won't be able to remove it yourself but the chances are it will eventually get washed out and will either go harmlessly through or end up in your filter. Years ago I had something similar with a 10p coin. The day before an engineer was coming to fix our very noisy washer it suddenly went back to being quiet again but wouldn't drain. When I removed the drain hose there was a 10p coin blocking the hose nicely!
