27/8/12 Husband came home from work raging as his sat nav had died today, googled the issue and used your instructions, thank you so much, saved us at least £50 and as he uses it everyday for work its a vital piece of kit, so happy right now X :-)

Paul, another thank you, very much. Similarly, pressing the reset on my dead StreetPilot didn't work for me this time but unplugging/discharging did.
Thanks again

If you have exausted all the usual options of reset buttons and are reasonably good with a screwdriver you can as a last option (if its out of warranty)
open up the case 4 screws behind the blue facia then gently disconnect the battery by the plug on the small circuit board then press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ensure that the unit has fully discharged plug the connecter back in and if your lucky it will start up.
this worked for me with a street pilot c510

Please note that its not my fault if it does not work or you totaly kill it you took the thing apart lol

Had this happen to mine. The resolve, remove the blue surround faceplate and hidden underneath you'll find the reset button. That should do it.
