philips matchline tv help?

tried turning on the tv but stays in standby mode (red)
using the remote pressed a number but the red light just flashes and dont go to green

could anybody help please as this tv has a great picture and dont want to send it to the heap yet

HI M8 GOT SAME PROBLEM AS U SEEMS TO ME ALOT OF PHILLIPS TV DOIN IT WAITN TV MAN TO HAV A LOOK AT MINE LET U NO OWTCUME M8 A JUST LEAVE MINE ON N TRN SK BOX OF ONLY WAY TO KEEP IT WORKIN BIN LIKE 4R MONTHS
