Click On start and then click on run. In the space enter msconfig and the System configuration window will come up. Click on the Startup Tab and see what programs are starting up when you boot your system. You may have to much running at startup. Turn off those programs that you don't need to startup when booting. Usually these are programs you only need to turn on when you need them not at the begining.
After you have done this and your system has restarted check the box that comes up and tell it not to show the message again. read this box carefully. do the wrong thing and all that you did will not happen.
After this is done you need to empty your temp files. Go To Your control files and click on internet options and delete files then cookies and then your history. You should notice a big differance.
Your should consider getting a program like System Mechanic to help maintain your computer. You should be able to download this program with your p2p program.
Goodluck and i hope this helped.

Sounds like you have a lot of unwanted data on your computer,
First,

Click, Start>All programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk cleanup, it should tell you the disk you wish to clean (c:), tick all tabs and press OK, this will clean all uneeded files but not your personal files.

Next,

Click, Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter, click analyze, windows will then tell you if this needs to be done, if so click defragment, it should take about 5-30 mins depending on how much it has to do,

These two programs will do nothig to your personal files so do not worry.
