valve timing problem peugeot 406 2.0 16 valve 1996?
bught car with broken cambelt..removed head.replaced all new valves.. fit head back to car pin up timing sprockets on head and crankshaft pulley..follow instructions in autodata cambelt book 2005..when i go to turn engine over valves hit pistons.. cant get timing marks wrong as they are pinned..any ideas? I AM A QUALIFIED MECHANIC..
Yea and sometimes you over look stuff.....sounds like its 180% out ..need to check vavle timing in according to where crank and cam are .....GM MAster tech for 25 years ....they can be screwy ,,,,,in stead of on the intake stroke it could be on the exhaust stroke ,,,,,,,glad to hear you didnh`t try to start and did it by hand before it srewd everthin again ...good luck my daughters nissan had me going for awhile
