Mend Toshiba Freeview Working

built in freeview has suddenly stopped working- Toshiba C3030 32" LCD?

my built in freeview has suddenly stopped working. The screen just flickers and i cant access any menu settings as the menu screen comes up for a brief second before switching itself off again. Can play dvds and analogue tv ok.

ive seen on another post that toshiba give you a reference number to give to an engineer to fix it but i wasnt offered this ? is that because i dont have extended warranty?
