Program selector switch/Button, how to remove?

Hi

I have an AEG Lavatherm 57700.

How do I remove the Program selector switch (front left on machine).

I believe I have to insert some thin tool, perhaps a knife behind the button and then push it off with the knife.

Is this the correct removal procedure?
