My 2 year old, 1300W Panasonic Microwave oven started blowing fuses. i cannot find the reason. Replaced 18a ABC fuse with 15a ABC fuse for quick test... and I got a quick answer... blew again. Tough to find the 18a ABC fuse. Saw thread on replacement with 20a car fuse. Worried that cause of fuse blowing could be serious and switching fuse to higher rating is dangerous. Does anyone have a recommendation?
I had this problem with a Panasonic -- it turned out to be a fault with the door switch!

As you noticed the fuse would blow again and replacing with a higher one would give a bigger bang and dangerous.
The Microwave has a short circuit and could be caused by many components and would recommend a service department for an estimate due to the voltages and currents involved unless the microwave is old and relatively cheap and if this is the case would be more economical to replace
