How can I fix my uplighter dimmer switch?

what size fuse should be in a double uplighter lamp its got 3 amp in but keeps blowing bulbs. its not a dimmer ...bulbs are r50 40 watt.any advice..

I have 300w halogen uplighter lamp and have replaced the fuse in the sliding dimmer switch with small 5amp fuse. Is this correct voltage or should I have use lower voltage please.

My uplighter is showing same symptoms. Replaced bulb and fuse in the plug but do not know how to find any other fuse (the T2.5AH250V you speak of) or how to replace that, can you help? Dont want to buy another uplighter! I like this one!

I just got the same problem. The bulb was gone, both 3amp and T2.5HA250V fuses were blown too. I didn't have the T2.5HA250V replacement, so I tried the 1amp. It works (for now!), I will find the correct T2.5H250V replacement for sure.

I am having the same problem at the moment although with a different make of uplighter. If you look at the metal ends of the small fuse with a magnifying glass you should see the value. Mine is marked T2.5AH250V. Whatever the value of yours, you should be able to get one in a good electrical shop or a place like Maplins. Take the old fuse along with you so that you get the correct size. They are smaller than a plug fuse.
Bear in mind that something caused it to blow so the replacement wmay do the same.
