tevion dvd recorder tdr251hd?

player keeps going into what i think is time shift. will play for a few minutes or a half hour or even for a full movie before clicking off and going to a grey screen and then nothing works.have to turn it off and start again sometimes the same thing happens straight away sometimes not till later. numbers appear on small screen on front of player different numbers each time

ive reset factory default etc.
also happens when playing discs as well as when watching tv
