The condensed water has to go somewhere, if you take the back panel off you will probably find is is all wet around the element and will eventually blow the fuse.
The most common fault causing this is a faulty pump failing to pump the water from the tank at the bottom to the Tank at the top that you empty.

there is a pump in the base and they have a habit of seizing up or jamming the impellor.to get to it you have to strip the whole unit down and you have to remove the fan from the drive motor which can sometimes be a pig to remove
