Fisher & Paykel two draw dishwasher electronic panel problem?

My two draw Fisher & Paykel dishwasher has problems with the settings changing while it is idle (loading) such that we have to keep the draw slighly open and the draw switched off until we need to use it. If the draw is closed and then re-opened, the panel powers up, and then starts changing to many of the cycle settings all by it's self. It will usually end up stopping on a HP (I assume High Pressure) error code. At present we use the dishwasher by keeping it powered off until we are ready, then hit the power-on and quickly follow with the start button. The cycle works fine once it starts. This problem occurs on the electronic panels for both draws. Can I repair this unit so that the panels are not so sensitive and can be left on during the loading phase? I am a qualified electronics technician, but have not attempted to fix this unit as yet, in case I make the problem worst

I do not think that water has got into the front of the draws, it is interesting that somebody else has a similar problem. When I say both draws are affected, that is true however the top draw is worse. If you open the draw the setting will start changing around without anybody touching the unit. After several changes the panel will switch to the HP error and stay there until it is powered off and on again. I have tried to buy a manual for this unit but have had no luck. If anybody knows where I can source one please let me know, thanks.

Hi Laurie
Did you find a solution to your HP fault? We have exactly the same fault with our dish drawer, but only the top drawer only. With ours, you have to pull the drawer out fully and wiggle it to get the light to move along the control panel to the setting we want, then quickly close it and push start (though sometimes it then jumps to another setting and I have to open it and try again). The buttons on the panel don't work at all. But the dishwasher itself works fine, it is just the panel that seems to be faulty. It lights up red with the letters "HP" if it jumps around too much...

Never heard of anything like this fault before. Even more odd that both drawers are doing the same thing. I would be inclined to rule out a control module fault as it is unlikely that both controllers have been damaged in the same way. Sounds more like the small pcb for the start button panel may be shorting out some way. Any chance that water may of been spilled down the front of both drawers? The only other thing in common with both drawers is the power supply pcb inside the lower part of cabinet. You have to remove lower drawer to get at it.
