Thanks for replying Roger, the machine tumbles and drains but doesnt do the as i call it "big spin",

when you say spins when washing do you mean simply tumbles - or does it do a mid rinse spin? could be the solenoid value which has a tube running to it is blocked - it stops the machine trying to spin when full of water
