no water entering the machine making the proper noises as if working door not locking though and getting a sequence of 8 flashes on the red power on light

After many advise from sources and word of mouth, I found the cause of my problems.
Steps I took are as follows:
1. Cleared the filter of trapped foreign items.
2. Freed the ball float in the main hose from a trapped safety pin.
3. Changed the heater element after it had meggered dead.
