disco 1 200tdi?

i seem to be getting lots of air in the diesel system and cant fathom out where from.it will run until the fuel runs out of the filter then starts to labour or cut out,i've changed the fuel lift pump but even that seems pretty piss poor and i've still got the same problem any ideas
