My auto-senser 5 year old dryer buttons work fine until I push 'start' then a deep droaning sound starts & no action....sound does not go until i turn off again. Have tried switching off/on with same result. Lint is cleared from my dryer after every use. Please help....is it worth buying a new one given the age over repair price ?
does it matter how you connect the wires when replacing

Dude,I had the same trouble, unless I was drying one pair of socks the drum would not turn, just made a humming noise,no power to dry even a half load.
Changed the capacitor today, cost me $10 2nd hand, took 10 minutes and my machine works like a charm!!

Take the back panel off & search around motor for a small round white plastic capacitor with two wires attached. If this has failed then motor will groan & struggle to start. They usually bulge out on the ends or sides or even split open when faulty. If it looks bad change it they don't cost very much.
