Lawnmowers run best on the higher octane fuels like 89 or 91. Keep in mind fuels now a days don't stay fresh for more than three months on the average. It depends where it is stored. I recommend you use a fuel stabilizer in your fuel which keeps it fresh for up to 2 years and it cleans your carb as you use it.
