Mend John Deere 160 Lawn Mower Tractor Safety Switch

Switch to activate mower blades on my John Deere 160 not working, as it has?

I went to jump my John Deere 160 lawn tractor, as I do every spring, and it runs and drives fine, but the switch to activate the mower blades does nothing- If I lift off the seat, it will kill the motor, but the blades don't rotate. Is there a simple fix, like a fuse or breaker, and/or can I replace a component myself, or must I bring it in for service?
