How to fix my Hotpoint fridge freezer?

My hotpoint Mistral fridge-freezer,model FF72P fridge compartment is not working (Showing room temperature of 18 degrees C).How can I use the controls of:zone/set temp/save/Fast freeze to adjust the temperature ,or is somethig else wrong?

Sorry to sound thick, where is the thermistor located what does it look like? i think i should get one as i defrosted the freezer, all worked well for a few hours. now temp of fridge back up and i can hear the fan working in the freezer compartment. many thanks for reply David.

hi could david please tell me how i can tell if it's a thermistor or fan? and also where the thermistor is? i can see the fan inside back of freezer. would the fan come on a soon as fridge freezer switched on or when freezer at temp?

Usually means fan not working may need new thermistor or a new fan
fan is located at back of freezer and directs cold air to fridge to cool it
